Cornell University, once a place of discussion and learning, is seeking to remove a tenured Jewish professor, Eric Cheyfitz, who permits Israel to be discussed instead of simply praised. The professor’s daughter and granddaughter live in Israel.
But this doesn’t save him from being charged with discrimination against a Jewish graduate student. The professor’s trouble was brought to him by an Israeli student who previously served in Israel’s elite military surveillance agency, Unit 8200. None of the students support the Israeli student’s claim.
It seems the Israel Lobby is testing how far it can expand its power over America’s universities. If the Lobby can get Cornell University to punish a tenured Jewish professor based on a complaint by a former member of Israeli Military Surveillance, then Israel will have set the standard for American universities that truth about Israel constitutes anti-semitic discrimination and is punishable.
The Israel Lobby took over American universities with large monetary grants. Now dependent on these grants, university administrators have to follow the line.
This is how the takeover happened: First came large monetary donations from Jews. These donations led to the appointment of Jewish benefactors to the university’s board of trustees. From here the Jews obtained university administrations headed by Jewish presidents who attached anti-semitism to the woke anti-racist, anti-homophobic, etc. agenda. The definition of what constitutes anti-semitism has been constantly expanded and now includes truth itself.
Several years ago a list was published of the ethnicity of the leadership of Ivy League universities. Formerly a WASP preserve, every Ivy League university had a Jewish president or provost. They may have been outstanding leaders. The point is that for such a small ethnic minority to be in control of all of America’s elite universities cannot be a coincidence. Jews want power and are good at attaining it. In a way you have to admire their determination. It didn’t take the Israel Lobby but a day or two to take over Charlie Kirk’s organization. Presumably, this puts Christian evangelicals back into Israel’s pockets, thus solidifying Israel’s control over President Trump.
American WASPs are no longer contenders. Worn out, ambition eroded by trust funds, WASPs have been displaced. Our future seems to in the hands of the Israel Lobby or the immigrant-invaders.

Political campaign contributions, not voters, elect the president and members of the Senate and House. Consequently, elected representatives represent the private interests that fund their campaigns.
Democracy serves as a cloak, a guise, that hides the fact that the government belongs to the private lobbies that purchased it.
In every election the emphasis is on getting the vote out, and that is done by money. There is no democracy as long as money determines election outcomes and thereby “public” policy. Obviously, there is no public policy serving the public’s interest.
Why do Americans believe in the hoax of democratic rule?
Why did the Supreme Court rule that it is a First Amendment right for organized lobbies to purchase the government?
In 1973 Alvin Rabushka and I had an article published in the journal, Public Choice, titled “A Diagrammatic Exposition of an Economic Theory of Imperialism.” In the article we introduced the concept of the “imperialist paradox.” The point we made is that whereas imperial rule is considered exploitative, in actual fact it extracts less resources than a democracy responding to organized interests. The reason is that the organized interests in democracies are shielded by the assumption that government is acting in the public’s interest, whereas an imperial regime is assumed to be acting in its interest. Imperial exploitation is recognized and resisted, whereas exploitation by organized interests in a democracy is protected under the rubric of serving the public interest.
Liberals maintain that government regulation restricts exploitation by private interests, but as economist George Stigler pointed out decades ago, regulatory agencies are captured by the industries they are supposed to regulate. We certainly witnessed that fact during the “Covid pandemic” when the FDA, CDC, and NIH served Big Pharma’s profits and not the public’s health.
Everywhere in the Western world there is movement away from government accountable to the people, which is what democracy is supposed to deliver. Indeed, the model for European progress is tyranny and not democracy. The European Union that has been constructed has a powerless elected parliament. The power is in the European Commission which is appointed.
The attack on democracy is seen everywhere in the West. For example, free speech is the bedrock of accountable government; yet free speech is under attack in every Western country as anti-semitic, racist, homophobic, offensive, and even terrorist. The liberal-left regards free speech as a hindrance to the woke agenda. People have forgot what they once understood: that their own governments are the greatest threat to their liberty.

Long overdue.
The Democrats’ DEI policy was designed to destroy the military. Had Hegseth waited any longer, there would have been no institutional base left for a real military.
My concern is whether the assumption or pretense that we have enemies, such as China and Russia, that need “containing” is cover for the neoconservative policy of American Hegemony in the service of Israel. Are we building a capable war-fighting military for our defense or for our hegemony?
In other words, what Secretary of War Hegseth says is true, but is it being done for the right reason?
Neither Russia nor China expresses hostility toward us. Russia has asked to join NATO. Russia has been ignoring our provocations and seeking a mutual security agreement, not war. China just wants to do business. Neither “adversary” is preaching or planning war against us.
Nuclear weapons are an extreme danger to all life, no matter how prepared the military is. A war ready military needs to be accompanied with a war averse foreign policy.
Neither is Iran an adversary. Iran is concerned with being painted as an adversary and in that way being set up for an American attack in the service of Greater Israel. I would have found it reassuring if Hegseth had said something about the US reasserting control over its foreign and war policies.
Too much military strength and too much confidence in it can result in an aggressive foreign policy that leads to war, not to peace.
Hegseth quoted the Romans, a formidable military power. It would have been appropriate for him also to quote President Theodore Roosevelt: “speak softly and carry a big stick.” We need the soft speech as much as we need the big stick.
Western governments are full of insane people. Former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is one of them. Yesterday he said that we have “to make Crimea unviable. We need to choke the life out of Crimea. If it is not habitable or not possible for it to function… I think, if we do that, Putin will suddenly realize he’s got something to lose.” Does Wallace think that Putin’s response will be to surrender?
Wallace is a good example that a competent military in the hands of fools can be a death warrant.

I find it extraordinarily that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov is so lost to reality that he actually said: “We operate on the premise that everything we have heard from our US colleagues at the top and other levels tells us that they want to help us end this conflict by addressing and eliminating its root causes.”
If the Russian government operates on this basis, Russia is definitely doomed.
The “root causes” are NATO on Russia’s borders which causes Russian insecurity. To remove the root cause means to remove the source of Russian insecurity. For many years the combined West has refused Russia’s request to join NATO and Russia’s pleadings for a mutual defense agreement. Yet the Kremlin is still hopeful??!!
Russia has experienced this feeling of insecurity since American President Clinton violated the word of the US government, thus making the US government untrustworthy to the world since the last years of the 20th century. Clinton violated the word of the George H.W. Bush administration that in exchange for the Soviet Union’s agreement to permit the reunification of Germany, NATO would not move one inch toward the Soviet borders. Clinton, little doubt well paid, moved NATO to Russia’s borders, and by doing so made the word of the US Government completely worthless. Yet Putin and Lavrov rely on Washington’s word !
For Putin and the Russian military command to permit a limited territorial conflict with Ukraine to continue for so long that it now approaches four years was a fantastic strategic blunder that is widening into World War 3. Putin is not responsible for the conflict. It was forced on him, but his response to the conflict–permitting it to endure and widen–was a massive mistake in judgment.
I don’t know if anything can bring the Kremlin out of its stupor. Perhaps it might help if the Russians read this article:
