PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA

On September 11, the President of Russia met with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The two leaders toured the Innoprom.India exhibition, after which Vladimir Putin addressed the BRICS Business Forum. Later that day, the President held separate meetings with the Presidents of South Africa and Egypt, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and the President of the New Development Bank.

On September 12, Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the 18th BRICS Summit. He also held bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

On September 13, the President of Russia attended the BRICS Outreach/Plus session.

From September 11 to 13, President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to the Republic of India to attend the 18th BRICS Summit. The event will be held in New Delhi, as the association marks its 20th anniversary.

During a working meeting in the Kremlin, the Governor briefed the President on the region’s socioeconomic development.

On September 10, Vladimir Putin will hold a videoconference meeting with members of the Russian Federation Government. The main topic of discussion will be the use of the Chestny Znak (Honest Sign) labelling system designed to “whitewash” the economy.

Reports will be delivered by Deputy Prime Minister – Chief of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko, Head of the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Market Control Igor Aleshin, and Head of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare Anna Popova.

A number of current issues will also be addressed.

Aide to the President Yury Ushakov: President Vladimir Putin had another telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. In their customary respectful and business-like manner, the leaders exchanged opinions on the trips made by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kiev on September 5–6.

The telephone conversation lasted exactly one hour. It was constructive and quite frank. As you understand, the conversation itself is confidential, so I am not at liberty to share with you many important details and nuances.

The outcome of the visit by said US representatives was assessed as positive. The work through this channel and some others will continue.

Clearly, the conversation centered on Ukrainian settlement. Donald Trump directly communicated the desirability of bringing the conflict to an end as soon as possible, as it would immediately open up prospects – impressive and far-reaching ones at that – for the ​full restoration of relations between the U.S. and Russia. In his view, this would have a particular impact on trade and economic ties, promising huge ‌benefits for ⁠both nations. Donald Trump is keen to see a breakthrough achieved during his presidency. President Putin supported this approach in the context of potentially building a constructive partnership between the two great powers and praised the mediation efforts by the US and Donald Trump personally with respect to finding solutions to the Ukrainian conflict. An objective and extensive analysis of the current developments in the special military operation was provided, along with our vision of the overall progress on the battlefield and achieving the goals and objectives of the special military operation. Speaking of which, actual tangible actions that the Americans could take to expedite the cessation of the hostilities were outlined.

In view of the speculations regarding Russia’s alleged hostile intentions against European states, it was stressed that no aggressive plans against Europe have ever entered our minds. The circulated myths about the Russian threat serve as a pretext for Europeans to ramp up their support for Ukraine and their own military expenses.

Notably, during the telephone conversation, the leaders agreed to continue the work on resolving humanitarian issues, including detainee and prisoner exchanges. Our President noted the efforts made by US First Lady Melania regarding the return of both Russian and Ukrainian children to their families.

Overall, colleagues, I will reiterate that the conversation proceeded in an upbeat tone. The presidents agreed to stay in touch and speak to each other by phone if the need arose.

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants in celebrations marking the Day of the Languages of the Peoples of Russia.

During the working meeting, Acting Head of the Republic of Daghestan Fyodor Shchukin briefed the President on the efforts to address the aftermath of the floods that struck the region in late March and early April, as well as the assistance rendered to those affected. Further discussion encompassed the development of social infrastructure and support measures for participants in the special military operation and their families.

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 18th National Youth Martial Arts Games which have opened in the Krasnodar Territory.

During a conversation, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev discussed a number of pressing matters pertaining to the cooperation in trade and economy as well as humanitarian affairs.

They agreed to intensify bilateral contacts at various levels.
