In today’s news, Israel’s stupid fucking genocidal rapists ran over an unexploded ordnance from their own evil carpet bombing campaign, blamed Hamas for the explosion, started bombing the fuck out of Gaza again, killed scores of civilians, said they were once again cutting off aid to the enclave, and then quietly backed down on urging from Washington.

Rather than report that Israel violated the ceasefire agreement as blatantly as any agreement could possibly be violated, the western press have been referring to this as a “test” of the ceasefire. Killing Palestinians is so normalized and accepted as a baseline expectation in the western press that CNN called it the “first major test” of the ceasefire after Israel killed people in Gaza every single day since the ceasefire agreement was signed.

I hope the “WHY AREN’T YOU CELEBRATING?” crowd have gotten their answer by now. We weren’t celebrating because we know more than you. We’ve actually been paying attention, so we know Israel is going to seek out every excuse to kill Palestinians and torch this fake “ceasefire”.

The Israeli government keep issuing statements making it explicitly clear that Israel will not consider the “war” over until Hamas is fully disarmed and Gaza is fully demilitarized, terms that the Palestinian resistance has explicitly refused. These mutually contradictory positions place Gaza on a collision course toward full-scale reignition of the genocide.

Whenever I talk about the IDF massacring civilians for inadvertently traveling into zones Israel has banned them from in Gaza I’ve been getting Israel apologists bleating “but they crossed the Yellow Line!” at me, which I guess is the new hasbara narrative.

Imagine thinking this is a good argument. Imagine thinking it’s perfectly reasonable to blow up a car full of children if they cross a made-up invisible line.

Think about how dehumanized Palestinians would have to be in your mind to believe this is a sane and reasonable position to have. To feel that deadly force via heavy war machinery is a perfectly fine way of administering crowd control.

Imagine if that was happening in your country. If police just blew up your vehicle if you accidentally turned onto a one-way street or made an unauthorized U-turn. If they could send a drone to go pick you off if you were walking down a street they didn’t think you should be on.

You’d never stand for it. You’d demand they find other ways to direct traffic besides deadly force.

“How about some signs?” you would say. “How about using verbal warnings and loudspeakers? How about road blocks? How about just not fucking murdering a vehicle full of kids for moving in an unauthorized way?”

But because it’s Palestinians, it never occurs to them that this should be the expectation. Palestinians deserve to be executed for the slightest transgression against the most arbitrary restriction.

Israel does this all the time, and its defenders are fine with it. During the aid distribution at GHF sites Israeli soldiers have told the Israeli press that they were ordered to fire upon anyone who moved in an unauthorized way, killing starving civilians every single day for seeking food. During the last “ceasefire” at the beginning of the year civilians would routinely get murdered for taking a donkey cart down the wrong road or whatever.

That’s the sort of thing people support of they stand by Israel. Supporting Israel is an innately racist and murderous position, because you support murdering Palestinian civilians for reasons you would never accept your own people being killed for.

Israel cannot stop murdering and abusing and sowing chaos and destruction for even one fucking day and the western empire cannot stop supporting it for even an instant, but if you say anything about this people start making up weird stories about you hating the religion of Judaism.

Der Philosoph und Autor Michael Andrick warnt in einem Beitrag für die Berliner Zeitung, dass die rasante Entwicklung von Künstlicher Intelligenz nicht nur technologische, sondern vor allem kulturelle und philosophische Umbrüche mit sich bringt. Besonders die neuen Formen der generativen und agentischen KI seien in der Lage, zentrale Grundlagen des europäischen Denkens ins Wanken zu bringen.

Andrick erinnert daran, dass europäische Kultur sich seit Platon und dem Christentum durch ein grundlegendes Vertrauen in eine ordnende, verstehbare Welt auszeichnet. Sowohl Platons Demiurg, der sich beim Erschaffen der Welt an ewige Ideen halten müsse, als auch der christliche Gott, dessen Schöpfung einem moralischen Plan folge, stünden für die Idee einer «gebundenen Schöpfung», so der Autor. Aus dieser Vorstellung habe sich über Jahrhunderte hinweg ein kulturelles Prinzip entwickelt: dass Menschen berechtigt und verpflichtet seien, Zustände zu hinterfragen – immer unter Berufung auf übergeordnete, rational fassbare Maßstäbe.

Mit dem Aufkommen generativer KI, die etwa realistisch wirkende Texte, Bilder oder Videos produziert, sieht Andrick dieses Prinzip bedroht. Denn derartige Technologien schüfen «weite Bedeutungsräume», in denen die üblichen Formen der Kritik nicht mehr greifen könnten. Wo Wirklichkeit sich nicht mehr auf gemeinsame, überprüfbare Maßstäbe gründe, werde sie beliebig manipulierbar – und damit dem rationalen Diskurs entzogen.

«Chaos existiert für uns Europäer traditionell nicht», schreibt Andrick, doch die neuen KI-Systeme erzeugten genau das: eine Wirklichkeit ohne Orientierung, der man sich nur noch unterwerfen oder ganz entziehen könne.

Noch kritischer bewertet er die sogenannte «agentische» KI: Systeme, die im Rahmen definierter Aufgaben selbstständig Entscheidungen treffen und handeln. Diese Technologien, so Andrick, verfügten zwar nicht über echte Urteilskraft, agierten aber mit einer «in sich dynamischen Rationalität», indem sie auf ein Ziel hin optimierten. In einer Welt, in der solche Systeme in immer mehr Bereichen menschliche Akteure ersetzen – von Design über Pflege bis hin zu militärischen Einsätzen –, stelle sich die Frage, ob der Mensch nicht Gefahr laufe, sich selbst zu «robotisieren».

Für Andrick ist damit eine Grenze erreicht, die frühere technische Revolutionen – von der Dampfmaschine bis zur digitalen Kommunikation – nie überschritten hätten:

«Bisher konnte keine Technikgeneration diesen Tiefenzug abendländischen Lebens und Denkens überschreiben», betont er.

Die aktuellen Entwicklungen aber unterhöhlten genau jene metaphysische Grundstruktur, auf der Europas Idee von Aufklärung, Wissenschaft und politischer Reform fuße.

Ob diese neue Realität noch reformierbar sei, lässt der Autor offen. Klar wird jedoch: Wer Künstliche Intelligenz nur als Werkzeug sieht, unterschätzt ihre kulturelle Sprengkraft.

Auf der Schweizer Finanzplattform Inside Paradeplatz erschien kürzlich ein luzider Artikel über die Art, wie politische Kommunikation sich verändert und entwickelt hat. Der Text von Hanspeter Gautschin, Autor, Blogger und Geschichtenerzähler, argumentiert brillant anhand von Schweizer Beispielen, die Schlussfolgerungen ließen sich aber verallgemeinern. Hier ist eine redaktionelle Zusammenfassung und ein Kommentar:

Was früher ein Wettbewerb der Ideen war, ist heute ein Kommunikationsdesign mit psychologischer Finesse. Politik wird inszeniert, nicht mehr diskutiert. Sie gibt sich sanft, modern, partizipativ – und ersetzt dabei Schritt für Schritt den freien Bürger durch einen «begleiteten Menschen».

Jüngstes Beispiel: Die knappe Annahme der neuen E-ID in der Schweiz am 28. September 2025. Nur 50,4 Prozent der Stimmberechtigten sagten Ja – doch wie kam dieses Ja zustande? Nicht durch offene Debatte, sondern durch emotionale Kampagnen, Studien voller Suggestion und eine Kommunikationsflut im Namen des Fortschritts. Zustimmung wurde nicht gewonnen, sondern «hergestellt».

Was hier greift, ist ein tiefgreifender Wandel im Politikverständnis. Es geht nicht mehr darum, Bürger zu überzeugen, sondern darum, sie zu steuern – freundlich, mit sanftem Druck, unter dem Deckmantel des Guten. Der Begriff dafür: Nudging – das sanfte Schubsen in Richtung des «richtigen» Verhaltens.

Diese Technik stammt aus der Verhaltensökonomie. Behavioural Finance ergänzt die traditionelle Finanztheorie, indem sie menschliches Verhalten auf den Finanzmärkten untersucht. Anders als die moderne Portfoliotheorie, die vom rationalen «homo oeconomicus» ausgeht, zeigt Behavioural Finance, dass Anleger oft emotional handeln – vor allem in Konfliktsituationen zwischen Vernunft und Gefühl. Studien von Tversky und Kahneman belegen, dass Verluste psychologisch stärker wirken als gleich hohe Gewinne. Diese Verlustaversion führt dazu, dass Anleger Gewinne zu früh realisieren und Verluste zu spät. Behavioural Finance will solche psychologischen Muster verstehen und in Anlagestrategien integrieren, was heute zunehmend praktiziert wird.

Staatlich im Rahmen der politischen Kommunikation adaptiert heißt das «Behavioral Insights» oder «partizipative Transformation». Das klingt modern, ist aber ein Eingeständnis: Der Staat traut seinem Volk nicht mehr zu, eigenständig und verantwortungsvoll zu entscheiden. Statt auf Mündigkeit setzt man auf Manipulation mit Samthandschuhen.

«Empowerment», «Co-Creation», «vertrauensbildende Kommunikation» – das neue Vokabular klingt wie Fortschritt, ist aber Kontrolle mit Feelgood-Fassade. Man schafft ein Klima, in dem Widerspruch als irrational gilt und Zustimmung zur einzig vernünftigen Option erklärt wird. Kritik wird abgewertet, nicht argumentativ entkräftet.

Die Politik wird damit zur Bühne, auf der Weltbilder verkauft werden – nicht Zahnpasta, sondern Denkweisen. Mit Framing, Storytelling und Neuro-Marketing. Plakate, die Trigger auslösen. Begriffe, die Haltung erzeugen. Der Bürger soll fühlen, nicht hinterfragen.

Das Resultat: Eine Demokratie, die sich selbst entkernt. Denn wer Bürger wie Adressaten behandelt, wie Zielgruppen, denen man etwas «vermittelt», der entzieht ihnen ihre Rolle als souveräne Subjekte. Die Grenze zwischen Aufklärung und Indoktrination verschwimmt.

Es ist ein politisches Klima entstanden, das Debatte durch Didaktik ersetzt. Der Staat belehrt, der Bürger nickt – oder wird zumindest so lange informiert, bis er es tut. Das widerspricht dem Kernprinzip demokratischer Ordnung: Vertrauen in den Menschen, offene kontradiktorische Debatten auf Augenhöhe. Das zieht sich durch: von der Schule, wo gelehrt wird, dass es mehr als zwei Geschlechter gibt und dass Familie alles sein kann, auch ein Freundeskreis, über die Universität (hier mehr dazu von meiner Kollegin Susanne Schmieden), die Politik, aber auch die Kommunikation in Großfirmen.

Vor einigen Jahren führte eine Firma ein neues Computersystem ein, bei dem das Login durch Fingerabdrücke funktioniert. Der Auftrag an die Kommunikation lautete: Das Ganze so präsentieren, als ob es keine Alternative gäbe. Aber die gab es. Gesetzlich ist es in der Schweiz zurzeit nicht möglich, dass der Arbeitgeber verlangen kann, dass biometrische Daten wie Fingerabdrücke verwendet werden. Es muss auch ein System mit Passwörtern zu Verfügung stehen. Ich insistierte darauf, dass das in der Kommunikation auch klar gesagt wird. Mit den Erfahrungen der Coronazeit benutzte dann kaum mehr jemand das System mit den Fingerabdrücken.

Der Schaden von solchen Kommunikationsstrategien ist tiefgreifend. Denn wer systematisch entmündigt wird, verliert den Mut zur Selbstverantwortung. Was folgt, ist Rückzug, Zynismus – oder Protest, der sich nicht mehr artikulieren lässt. Das Vertrauen erodiert – nicht nur in Institutionen, sondern in die eigene Urteilskraft.

Die Demokratie braucht keine pädagogische Führung. Sie braucht Respekt vor dem Bürger, vor dessen Fähigkeit, zu denken, zu irren und zu entscheiden – auch gegen den Strom.

Es ist Zeit, die Methode zu hinterfragen. Nicht Technik oder Fortschritt sind das Problem, sondern der Verlust an Freiheit unter dem Deckmantel des Guten. Der Bürger muss wieder als das gesehen werden, was er ist: der Souverän, nicht das Schulkind des Staates.
